What is MTVP?
MTVP is the product of countless hours spent not only trying to understand how to support singers—but how to support the teachers who guide those singers.
Because being a great voice teacher isn’t just about knowing what to teach.
It’s about understanding how to teach, why you choose certain strategies, and how to grow those decisions into expertise over time.

So often, teacher education stops at techniques for singers.
MTVP focuses on what teachers need: structure, clarity, applied strategy, and a way to organize all of the information you’re collecting in your pedagogical life.
This course is designed to help you navigate real teaching challenges with more confidence—and offer you a repeatable framework that supports your growth for years to come.
What about the Certificate?
Over the course of 12 Weeks, we will offer you lectures, guiding questions, and a live teacher's labe to help you master the foundations necessary for Level 1 Certification.
We will take you through all of the foundational elements of our framework step-by-step so you feel confident, prepared, and ready to apply these concepts in your teaching right away.
and MORE Completing the Level 1 Certification makes you eligible for one-to-one teacher feedback sessions, and lays the groundwok for your continued professional development!
What's Covered?
At BroadwayVox we organize teacher skill development into 3 areas:
Learning by Doing, Critical Listening, and Making the sounds.
Learning by doing How do we apply concepts in real time? How do we reflect and adapt?
This portion of the course walks you through our full pedagogical framework and teaches you how to structure your lessons, choose exercises intentionally, and build a studio grounded in function.
Critical Listening This is one of the most underdeveloped (and most essential) skills in teacher training.
We show you how to identify vocal qualities, categorize them, and map them to your students’ functional needs. Through weekly listening practice, you’ll develop a clearer, more useful pedagogical ear.
Making the sounds is all about…you guessed it…making the sounds! We believe every teacher has to not only know what sounds they guide a musical theatre singer towards, but they have to have experience MAKING the sounds. We offer you a ton of tools and exercises for helping you have a more embodied understanding of the sounds you teach in the studio. If you believe that your students can learn these concepts, you have to believe that YOU can learn them too!
How it works?
Over 12 weeks, you’ll receive:
• Weekly video lectures with guided questions and visual aids
• Weekly homework assignments that include reflection and applied teaching tasks
• Live weekly Teacher Labs with Joey & Jared where we:
• Practice critical listening
• Apply vocal exercises
• Reflect on lesson content
• Support each other’s learning in community

You’ll also get access to:
• Our Almighty Table of Voice Building—a repeatable framework for developmental sequencing
• A Leveled Vocal Exercise Library—so you always know what to assign and why
• A Voice Building Repertoire Database—correlated to voice function and coordination level
By the end of this course, you’ll have the tools to:
• Systematically identify the developmental level of a singer
• Choose exercises that move them forward
• Assign repertoire that supports function
• Build an intentional, skill-based studio
• Keep growing your teaching career with clarity and joy
What makes MTVP different?
MTVP is our response to what teachers NEED. We have built a course that not only provides a framework for building the essential skills a teacher needs, but allows you to continuously build upon your teaching ability throughout your career. By breaking down not just WHAT teacher’s need to know, but HOW teacher’s learn, we have created something truly innovative to the field of voice teacher education. Our belief is that this course will change not only how you think about singing but how you think about teaching, and further, how you think about learning to teach. Finally, our commitment to every teacher that takes this course, is we will continue to learn and grow with you. Much like singing, learning to teach never ends. Similarly, learning to teach teachers never ends. We will continue to grow and refine the concepts introduced in this course for as long as we are teaching it. So, forever, I guess?
Who is this class for?

Whether you’re brand new to teaching or deep into your career, MTVP is designed to meet you where you are. For newer teachers, this is the structure you’ve been looking for. For more seasoned educators, this course will help you organize what you know, expand how you apply it, and deepen your approach. For the voice nerd singer, this will help you refine your understanding of that sounds that you are making on in the practice room, in rehearsal, and on stage. If you’ve ever wished for a graduate-level pedagogy training that actually speaks to the real life of a musical theatre teacher—this is it.
What is the Time Investment?
We recommend keeping 5-10 Hours per week open for deliberate study and application of the course materials. Building skills as a teacher is something that take focused attention and space for reflection. We encourage you to plan accordingly, so that you have the time and space to get everything you can out of the Teacher’s Lab.
